This policy covers roberttravispierce.com and the RTP Personal Alerts SMS notification program operated by Robert Travis Pierce, sole proprietor.

What is collected

SMS program. One mobile telephone number: the account owner’s own, which is both the sole recipient and the only number stored. Alongside it, the messaging provider retains the content of messages sent and their delivery status. No other personal information is collected for this program, and no number belonging to any other person is collected, stored, or messaged.

Website. If you send a message through the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are stored so that the message can be answered. Standard server logs record requests to the site.

How it is used

The mobile number is used for one purpose: delivering automated alerts from privately operated home-monitoring and email-monitoring systems to their owner. Contact-form submissions are used only to reply to the sender. Server logs are used to operate and secure the site.

What is not done with it

No information collected here is sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and none of it is used for marketing. Mobile numbers and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. There is no advertising network, no data broker, and no tracking of visitors across other sites.

Service providers

Message delivery is carried out by Twilio, which processes the number and message content solely in order to transmit them, and by the recipient’s mobile carrier. The site is hosted on Heroku. These providers act as processors and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.

Retention

Alert messages are transient and are retained only as long as the messaging provider’s standard logging requires. Contact-form messages are kept until they are no longer needed to maintain the correspondence.

Children

This site and the SMS program are not directed to children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them.
